Pulwama, Mar 01 (KNO): After six years, a vital bridge in Pulwama’s Urbagh area is awaiting completion causing inconvenience to people. Locals told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a bridge for the area was sanctioned six years ago during the PDP-BJP regime but was never completed. They said that they were connected with the rest of the district through a wooden bridge but due to incessant rains last week, the bridge collapsed thereby disconnecting several villages. Irshad Ahmad, a local, said that work on the bridge was started soon after it was approved but due to unknown reasons it was abandoned. He said that authorities were informed in this regard several times to no avail. “We have made several representations to the authorities but despite promises, construction work has not resumed,” said Gulzar Ahmad, another local. He said they are forced to take longer routes to reach their destinations in absence of the bridge. Like all major offices including DC offices falls on the other side of the stream and they have to navigate through longer routes—(KNO)
